Head Coach Erika Perkins Jasper

On her first experience of the rivalry
"I think all of us were pretty motivated to play a good match today. As a coach, you try not to get to emotionally over excited but I really wanted this for my seniors as much as everyone else on the team. Rivalry match combined with senior day combined with these seniors who have never had a win over the Aggies, there was a lot of excitement in the air. I was thrilled how we rose to the occasion under pressure and took care of business today."

On what it means to the seniors to finally beat the Aggies
"I think it was really big for them. When there's a coaching change it's always really challenging, especially for the seniors. The three of them have shown such great leadership. They've bought into our system and they've really done a great job. In a lot of ways they deserve this win today. I was exceptionally proud of the leadership they showed and the fight they showed and I think it carried down to the underclassmen today."

On looking forward to the rest of the season
"Well we're pretty much headed on the road for the rest of the conference season starting next weekend. Our goal from the beginning of the season was to improve week-in-week-out and we've managed to do that so far. We'll kind of keep that in mind. Luckily, we've become a pretty good road team so we'll try to do our best job of that today."

Senior Michaela Oldani

On winning on Senior Day
"It feels really good. All four years it's been tough matches with the Aggies and to finally beat them senior year is a great feeling. It was a real team effort today which is an amazing feeling especially on Senior Day and on our home courts."

On her singles match "I had a little bit of a rough start in singles but then I got it together and really started digging out and fighting for every point. I could feel the momentum change and hearing my teammates cheering and fighting hard on their courts was also a big help for me and for them."

Sophomore Sarah Mahboob Khan

On finishing with the clinch win
"I felt really great obviously. Starting with the doubles, I felt we had really great momentum going into the singles match. I had a good first set and the second I got a bit tight but my team was behind me the whole time and it felt great to come out with a win today. I'm really happy."

On having the team cheering her on
"It's unbelievable. It's a completely different atmosphere. In the juniors you are kind of your own but in college tennis you have your whole team behind you and when you're the last match on and everyone is around cheering you on, it kind of pushes you. It's a great feeling."
