Emily Olivier

Prior to UNM:

Olivier is a 2013 graduate of Klein HS in Klein, Texas. She was played under head coach Holly Cannon and her father, Ken Olivier,  while playing tennis at Klein. She won the 5A State Championship in doubles in 2013 with her partner Princess Gbadamosi. Her highest national ranking before coming to UNM was 121 and she had an overall record of 25-23. 

Personal:

She is the daughter of Cherly and Ken Olivier and younger sister to Sheri Olivier. She has a long family history of Division I tennis athletes. Both of her parents Ken and Cheryl Olivier played tennis for UT-Tyler and East Texas State. Her sister, Sheri, played for Texas A&M from 2008-12. She has many relatives that have played college tennis besides her parents and sister including her grandfather Carmack Berryman Sr. (San Diego State University), her uncle Carmack Berryman Jr. (East Texas State University), and her great uncle Alex Gordon (University of California-Los Angeles).

She plans on majoring in business while at UNM. When she’s not playing tennis, Olivier enjoys going to church and hanging out with friends.

“Emily has a huge game and an even bigger personality!  Emily put a tremendous amount of work in this fall in the weight room and in the training room to become faster and stronger, and we believe it will pay big dividends this spring.  Already a fan favorite, Emily is just starting to realize the type of player she can be!”
