Williamson Named 2011-12 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete of the Year

SENIOR (2011): Had an exceptional senior season capped with being named the 2011-12 Mountain West Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference's highest honor...received her second-consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-American honor, being named first team in 2011 (Williamson was the only MW student-athlete on the Academic All-American team)...also earned her second CoSIDA Academic All-District award...was an impact player on the court as well, finishing second on the team in kills (404, 3.64/set) and points (435, 3.92/set)...tallied six double-double (kills and digs) performances on the season...recorded a team and league-high 68 attack attempts in a 3-2 Lobo loss at Northern Arizona on Sept. 3...recorded a career-high 19 digs in a 3-1 victory over Temple on Sept. 17...notched 1,210 attack attempts on the season which ranks second in UNM history...had a Mountain West Tournament-high 23 kills in New Mexico's 3-2 loss to Wyoming on Nov. 18...finished ranked 46th in MW career history for attack attempts with 2,387...2011 Mountain West Volleyball All-Conference honoree...Fall 2011 Academic All-MW...2011-12 MW Scholar Athlete.

JUNIOR (2010): Heavily relied upon as a starter for the Lobos in her junior campaign ... had a career defining game in a 3-2 victory over rival New Mexico State on Sept. 14, recording career highs in kills (20) and points (20.5) ... channeled her inner defense in a 3-1 victory over Southern Methodist on Sept. 10 by picking up a career-high eight digs ... finished the 2010 season third on the team in total kills (296), blocks (57) and points (335.5) ... named to 2010 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team ... named the Lobo Club Student-Athlete of The Year for community service contributions as well as academic excellence ... received the Cherry and Silver Award (team most valuable player), Scholar Athlete Award and the Most Improved Player Award at UNM's team banquet and also received the Jeanne Fairchild Endowed Scholarship ... selected to the Co-SIDA/ESPN Academic All-America Third Team ... selected along with other top-level collegiate players to compete in the USA Challenge Invitational Tournament for the BIP/USA Development Team in Beijing, China.
