NMJC (2006 & 2007):Named two-time All-Conference, All-Region and All-American...2007 National Champion runner-up ...batted .480 with 22 doubles and 11 home runs in 2007, his sophomore season...had 87 RBIs and a .756 slugging percentage in 221 at bats...in 2006, as a freshman, hit .517 with nine home runs and 66 RBIs...doubled 19 times and finished with a .879 slugging percentage in 149 at bats...made the vice president and dean's list.

High School: Played under coach Jim Briggs at Manzano High School...named two-time All-State and three-time All-District...honored as the All-State Player of the Year...was the New Mexico High School triple crown winner in 2005.

Personal:Born on May 17, 1987 to Cynthia Cavazos and Balvino Galvez...father was a pro pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1985 and the Detroit Tigers in 1986...says his greatest thrill while playing sports was being the 2007 JUCO World Series runner-up while playing at New Mexico JC...major is Sociology.
