*Craig Neal won his first game as a head coach, and improved UNM head coaches to 13-7 in their first games with the Lobos.

*New Mexico has won 23 of its last 24 home games.

*New Mexico has now won 11 consecutive season openers, not losing since the 2002 season opener, when it dropped a 76-68 decision to California at The Pit.

*For the second straight year, the season started with a team having a 10-0 lead in The Pit to start the year.  Last year Davidson bolted to a 10-0 start, and led by 16 in the second half before UNM stormed back for the win.  This year, UNM opened up a 10-0 lead to start the season.

Player Notes

*Hugh Greenwood made his 43rd consecutive start, the longest streak on the team.  The Lobos also improved to 54-10 when Greenwood is in the starting lineup.

*Kendall Williams moved up one spot into 16th on the career scoring list.  His 17 points moved him ahead of Francis Grant (1959-62, 1,283 points). Kendall has now scored 1,286 points.

*Dating back to last season, Alex Kirk has recorded a blocked shot in 15 of his last 16 games.  


*Kendall Williams' first free throw of the first half was his 500th career free throw.

*Cameron Bairstow had a career-high 21 points; His last career high was on 1-30-13 at Wyoming with 17points. He and Alex Kirk both had double doubles.

*Bairstow had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Kirk had 16 points with 12 rebounds.

*Last time UNM had two players with double doubles was 3-9-13 Kendall had 21 points, 10 assists. and Alex had 16 points and 11 rebounds at Air Force.
