Streaks and trends

*New Mexico defeated Utah State 78-65 to improve to 16-4 overall and 7-1 on the Mountain West

*The Lobos led 41-33 at the break, the first time in four games that UNM’s opponent didn’t score exactly 27 in the first half.

*The 41 points in the first half was the most UNM has scored in a half this year.

*New Mexico is now 14-0 when trailing at the half, and 5-0 in conference games.

*UNM is 13-0 when outshooting its opponents.

*UNM is 6-1 on the road this season, the only loss at Kansas.

*UNM’s 5-0 road conference start tied the school record, originally set in the 1978 season in which UNM opened 5-0 on the road in the WAC on the way to a 13-1 start.

*The win was the first for New Mexico in Logan in 11 tries.

*UNM tied a season-low with seven turnovers.

In-Game Notes

*Alex Kirk did not start for a second straight game, and did not play due to a leg injury.  His official status is day-to-day.  Obij Aget started in his place.

*New Mexico had a first half run of five straight three-pointers from the 8:48 mark to the 5:47 by four different players (Hugh Greenwood, Cleveland Thomas, Deshawn Delaney and Cullen Neal twice).

*In the second half Coach Neal inserted Devon Williams and Merv Lindsay into the game, Williams’ first game since Nov. 17.

Senior F Cameron Bairstow

*Scored 22 points for his 19th double-figure scoring game this season.

*His four blocked shots are a career-high, besting the three has had had several times previously.

*He also went 8-for-9 from the line.

 Senior G Kendall Williams

*For Williams he has scored in double-figures in all 19 games this year after his 16.

*Moved ahead of Darrell McGee for seventh place in career steals with 170

*Moved all the way into fourth place on the career minutes played list with 3,928.

 Junior G Deshawn Delaney

*After hitting just one field goal over the last three games, he hit three in the first half and five for the game.

*The 12 points tied a career-high.

Freshman C Obij Aget

*Had a career-high with seven points and three field goals.

*Played a career-high 22 minutes

*Tied his career-high with four rebounds.

Sophomore F Merv Lindsay

*Entered in the second half and grabbed a career-high two rebounds.  He had two rebounds all season.

Junior G Hugh Greenwood

*Tied his career-high with 10 rebounds.
