Lettered for four years in basketball at Eldorado High School • one of the most decorated players ever out of the state of New Mexico • he was named a Parade All-American, Mr. Basketball for New Mexico, and the 2012 Gatorade Player of the Year • he was an ESPN Top 100 member as a junior and as a senior (rated No. 87) • Also was named Hot 100 Top 100 Players, HoopScoop Top 100, Rose Hoops Top 100, Rivals Top 100, Nike Top 100 and Pangos Top 100 • Was also a three-time Adidas Phenom All-Star and a Top 30 Cream of the Crop selection • was selected to the All-Tournament team for the Fab 48 Tournament and the Elite 8 in the Desert • finished his high school career at Eldorado with 2,311 career points, third-most in New Mexico history, and his 831 points as a senior was 11th all-time (and a school record) • ranked fifth in state history with 497 career assists • his 778 career free throws is the most in New Mexico prep history, and he owns the second-highest (260) and third-highest (239) single-season totals • made 217 three-pointers in his career, sixth all-time in New Mexico prep history • was named First Team All-State and First Team All-City as a junior and as a senior, after earning Second Team honors in both as a sophomore • also played for the North squad in the New Mexico High School All-Star game • three times in his career he drained at least eight threes in a game, hitting 87 total in 2011-12, a school record for a season • as a senior he led Eldorado to a 20-8 record, averaging 26.4 points per game and 7.1 assists per game, helping the Eagles to the state semifinals • dished out an incredible 193 assists and grabbed 39 steals as a senior • had a game for the ages as a senior, scoring 43 points including nine threes in a three-point loss to Albuquerque High • had 11 30-point games as a senior, including a 39, 40 and 43-point effort • had a 34-point night against Sandia that included a career-best 18-for-18 from the line • in leading Eldorado to the 2012 state title he led the Eagles with a 27.7 scoring average, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.1 steals as a junior • scored 34 points on 12-of-21 shooting in the title game against La Cueva, played at The Pit • overall as a junior he shot 45% from the field and hit 87 three-pointers, along with 81% from the free throw line • finished his career with six different 40-point scoring nights, including a career-high 46 against Albuquerque High as a junior • graduated with a 3.982 grade point average • a member of the National Honor Society.
