ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Mountain West Conference released their Women’s Basketball schedule for the conference, which completed the 2013-14 University of New Mexico Women’s Basketball schedule. The addition of San Jose State and Utah State to the conference expanded the conference slate to 18 games for all MW members.

“We are excited to have our conference schedule finalized. We look forward to the addition of San Jose State and Utah State to our conference. Those new matchups and travel destinations will add new wrinkles to our conference slate, and we can’t wait for the 2013-14 season to begin,” commented Head Coach Yvonne Sanchez.

The uneven number of basketball members means UNM will not face all conference opponents the same amount of times. Coach Sanchez and the Lobos will not travel to Fresno State while Air Force will not be making the trip to The Pit next season.

New Mexico will finish their non-conference schedule at a tournament hosted by Miami December 28th and 29. Then they will play their conference opener at Colorado State on Sunday, January 5. Mountain West play will end on Friday, March 7 when San Diego State pays a visit to The Pit. The 2014 Reese’s MW Championship will begin the following week in Las Vegas.
