Lobo Faithful:

University of New Mexico Soccer kicked off the Holiday Season with plenty of JOY! It was Thanksgiving at home and fortunate to host the NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16". The boys took care of business! Dominating performance versus the Penn State Nittany Lions last Sunday: 2-0 victory, 15-5 advantage in shots and our defense was tremendous! Lobo goalkeeper, Michael Lisch, earned the "clean sheet" without making a single save… We prevented PSU from taking a single quality shot on our goal for 90 minutes. We were very disciplined and mature, we committed only 7 fouls, kept a great rhythm to the game and played our most complete match of the season. 3400 "Loud and Proud" Lobo fans made the night even more memorable. Can't say enough about our supporters…..the BEST in the country!

Re-cap and video highlights.

On to the NCAA Tournament "Elite 8" in Seattle, Washington. We depart this Friday for Saturdays match at the #2 seed, Washington Huskies (6:00 pm MST). Go to www.golobos.com or www.gohuskies.com for streaming and/or television information. We will be rested and ready for another great test!

We need your support to keep Lobo Soccer amongst the Country's Elite. Lobo Soccer is one of only three programs in the country to reach thre- straight NCAA "Sweet 16"s"EXCELLENCE on the field matched by EXCELLENCE IN THE CLASSROOM: our team grade point average for the 2012-13 academic year was 3.43 and as a result, we received the prestigious NSCAA Team Academic Award. We need to supplement this year's operating budget by approximately $70,000. This fund-raised money will pay for attending the Conference-USA Tournament, team travel, recruiting and equipment. The Golden Goal Club is the men's soccer booster club, with 100% of membership dollars going directly to our program.
