ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Lobo Soccer will enter its 30th season of play in 2013, and that milestone can now be celebrated with an up-to-date, reorganized history and record book dedicated to those three decades of University of New Mexico Men’s Soccer.
The 2013 Lobos will begin a new chapter of program history as a member of Conference USA. Head Coach Jeremy Fishbein and his team will look to build on the momentum they created in 2012. The Cherry & Silver advanced to their second consecutive Sweet 16 as Fishbein also became the program's all-time winningest coach with a record of 154-48-26 (.732) by season's end.
New Mexico also became one of only seven programs in the nation to have three or more players selected in a MLS Draft. Blake Smith (Montreal Impact), Devon Sandoval (Real Salt Lake) and Nik Robson (Toronto FC) join former goal keeper Victor Rodriguez in the professional ranks. Rodriguez signed a professional contract with Antigua G.F.C, which is one of the top teams in Guatemala.
