Southern California Dreamin’
Monday evening’s match against the Gauchos truly came down to the wire. Freshman Niko Hansen buried the game-winning goal off a pass from James Rogers with just twelve seconds left in regulation. It was the culmination of a dominant second half in the eyes of Coach Fishbein.
“We talked about how we had to be confident, disciplined and have a “defend first” mentality. The guys were mentally tough and absorbed the pressure. We got a hold of the game in the second half. The guys stayed the course to the very end, and I am just real proud of our guys.”
Have You Seen “Fish Off The Pitch”?
Coach Jeremy Fishbein has a special weekly show entitled “Fish Off The Pitch”. He and host, GoLobos.com Senior Writer Richard Stevens, talk about anything and everything that is Lobo Soccer. Players join their coach as special guests for a lighter conversation about what it’s like being a Lobo. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out this week’s episode below.
James Rogers Picking Up Where He Left Off

New Decorations at the UNM Soccer Complex

The flags include Sierra Leone (James Rogers), Ghana (Michael Kafari), Jamaica (Oniel Fisher), Costa Rica (Michael Calderon and Adrian Mora Delgado), Canada (Ben McKendry), Norway (Rene Reyes), Denmark (Niko Hansen) and New Zealand (Mathew Gibbons, Joe Harris and James Wypych).
