University of New Mexico Soccer; "Never a dull moment". National Signing Day tomorrow, February 5th, with up to the minute news posted on our website. Exciting times in store for the Lobo Faithful! Lobo Soccer won't be re-building, we are RELOADING! I will send out another edition of the "Lobo Faithful" tomorrow or Thursday reviewing our incoming recruiting class. The plan is to get everything on-line by noon tomorrow. 2:00 pm press conference to follow, which will be posted on Lobo TV.
There is some bittersweet news from within the program. If you haven't heard, Lobo coach and "Captain for Life", Brandon Moss, has hung up his coaching shoes, put his whistle in the underwear drawer and has joined the private sector. No more "casual Fridays five days a week"….coat and tie for Moss. Brandon will stay in Albuquerque and has joined his family in the running of Innovative Moving Systems, where he will serve as "Director of Business Development" in their commercial moving and warehousing enterprise. If you want to reach Brandon, he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org. There isn't a more honest or harder working man in the world than Brandon. While he will be missed in the day to day running of Lobo Soccer, Brandon will still be an active member of our program and will become the inaugural president of our alumni association (he's been nominated and voted into office by an overwhelming majority). If you have moving needs, contact Brandon!
Brandon is moving out and Mike Graczyk is moving in…..back to the Land of Enchantment. There were two coaches in the college ranks who I felt could fill Brandon's shoes and we are bringing one of them back home! Albuquerque native and former Lobo Standout, Michael Graczyk, has left Stanford University after three seasons as an assistant coach to re-join the Lobos. In addition to Stanford, Mike coached at Harvard University and brings a wealth of experience and an incredible vocabulary to our program. One of the most diligent workers I've ever coached, a gentleman, a student of the game and an extremely ethical and moral man, Mike is going to make us BETTER! He is recently married, its wonderful getting Mike back to the University of New Mexico. Here are links to our website article on Mike's appointment and the link to the Albuquerque Journal article.
I'll get you the latest and greatest on our new players in the next two days…stay tuned.
