ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico Men's Soccer program and Head Coach Jeremy Fishbein will welcome two new members to the team for the 2013 season. Oneil Fisher and Rene Reyes will join the Lobos from Tyler Junior College and Jacksonville University respectively. Fisher and Reyes are two more highly-decorated student-athletes joining UNM's already talented seven-member recruiting class for this fall.

Rene Reyes figures to play a role in the Lobo attack in 2013.

"Rene and Oneil are integral additions to the Lobo Soccer program. They bring tremendous experience with them to New Mexico as exciting, electric players. They join us with impressive backgrounds but also as impressive student-athletes. We are excited for what they will bring to the pitch and what they will add to the program as students and examples in the Albuquerque community," said Head Coach Jeremy Fishbein.

Rene Reyes will join the Lobos for his sophomore season in 2013 after a successful freshman season at Jacksonville University. Reyes was an Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen Team member for the Dolphins. He tallied four goals for JU including the game-winning goal to down undefeated, and A-Sun perennial power, Mercer. The freshman was also part of a Dolphin team that earned a NSCAA Team Academic Award with a team grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

"Rene is a very mature young man and athlete after playing at a very high level in his home country of Norway. He showed that maturity and development with the great freshman season he had at Jacksonville University. It took him a bit to get adjusted to the collegiate game, but once he did he developed into a high-caliber college soccer player. He's a dynamic player who can play a number of positions in the Lobo attack," Coach Fishbein commented.

Prior to his arrival in the United States, Reyes played extensively for the FK Lyn Football Club. FK Lyn is one of the top clubs in Oslo, Norway, and they won two league championships during his time with the club. The club went a perfect 22-0 in Reyes' first season in Oslo.

Oneil Fisher is nationally and internationally decorated player.

Oneil Fisher will come to Albuquerque after an All-American season for Tyler Junior College in Texas. Fisher was part of Tyler's national championship team in 2012 after finishing third nationally in 2011. While playing in the midfield for TJC in 2012, Fisher tallied one goal and one assist in fourteen matches. The native of Portmore, Jamaica also earned NJCAA All-Region honors with the Apaches last season.

As impressive as his college résumé may be, Fisher's international experience is even deeper. He becomes the first Lobo recruit in program history to represent his country on a full national team before joining New Mexico. Fisher earned a full cap for the Jamaican senior national team against Trinidad and Tobago in 2010. The junior-to-be also made five appearances with the Jamaican U-20 National Team. He is also the first-ever Jamaican to don a New Mexico uniform.

"We are really excited to have Oneil join the team. He is first and foremost a standout individual. His maturity shows on and off the field, and he will make every member of our program better as a person and as a player. Oneil has already played at some of the highest levels of soccer at a young age with his cap with the full Jamaican National Team. That experience and his maturity make him ready to mesh with our program and ready to compete. Hopefully with his continued development as a Lobo, Oneil will be able to earn even more international playing time with his country's national team," Fishbein observed.

Reyes and Fisher will join fellow newcomers Niko Hansen and Lucas Seligman in the fall. Five other members of the incoming recruiting class, Michael Lisch, Caleb Hilbron, Josh Goss, James Wypych and Nick Thiros, already joined the program in January. Next year will be New Mexico's initial season as a member of Conference USA.
