SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of New Mexico men’s soccer program closed their two-game exhibition schedule with their second victory in three days as they defeated San Diego State 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lobos were propelled to victory by goals from sophomore Carson Baldinger and junior Michael Calderon. For Calderon, it was his second goal of the exhibition season after scoring in the second half on Thursday night at Cal State Northridge.

The Lobos’ equalizer would come off Michael Calderon’s unassisted goal in the 36th minute. The junior’s goal would come on the first shot of the game for New Mexico.
The offense would pick up in the second half for UNM. After only tallying one shot in the first half, the Lobos would get off six more in the second half. Carson Baldinger’s shot in the 66th minute would be true as he would score the go-ahead goal off an assist from freshman Casey Phillips.
