Nothing But Net Downloadable Log Get Acrobat Reader

Albuquerque, N.M. --- Two of the busiest people in New Mexico are head basketball coach Craig Neal and Governor Susana Martinez, but both took some time this weekend to introduce the "Nothing But Net" Lobo Summer Reading Shootout for elementary school children entering the second, third, and fourth grades.

The program runs through all of June and July, ending on August 1. Students entering second, third, or fourth are encouraged to read over the summer, to prevent what Governor Martinez terms "the summer slide".

There are various levels for kids to aim for. The "Lay-up" level is achieved after reading six books. Students who log in the six books will receive a signed certificate from Governor Martinez and Lobo basketball, along with a poster.

Students who read 12 books and submit a short essay on which book was their favorite reach the "Slam Dunk" level. Along with everything from the "lay-up" level, the students will also receive a "Lobo Basketball is New Mexico True" basketball.

All "Slam Dunk" level students are also eligible for a drawing at the end of the program. Six students will be selected as grand prize winners, and they will be recognized on The Pit floor at a game this season, receive free tickets, and receive an autographed basketball.

Students can pick up the Northing But Net reading logs from the Lobo Ticket Office in The Pit, from any of the Lobo basketball camps, or it can be downloaded at the top of the page. For a coach and a father like Coach Neal, getting to be involved in the reading program with the Governor's office was a no-brainer, as he told the media on Saturday, "She called and asked if I'd be interested in doing something like this and I said `yeah.' Even before I really knew the details of the program, I said of course."

Lobo basketball camps are continuing this week, with the Boys Individual Skills Camp running through Thursday of this week before the team camp, which will take place June 13-16.
