NEW MEXICO: Veteran quarterback who overcame adversity time and time again throughout his Lobo career ... finished with 33 games played and 21 career starts, despite numerous injuries and playing for four offensive coordinators during his five seasons ... emerged as the leader of the offense in 2012 after picking up offensive coordinator Bob DeBesse's pistol scheme in the spring... wasn't suited to be an option-style QB but still emerged as the No. 1 signal-caller during 2012 ... had a 56.9 career completion percentage, to rank third all-time in Lobo history ... a team captain in 2011 ... earned the school's 1st Team Award for Unselfish Devotion to the Team as well as the Reese Hill Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2011 ... came off the bench through the first four games but seized the starting job in week five and kept it for the rest of the season ... makes good decisions with the football ... has deceptive running ability and knows when to scramble for yardage ... one of the hardest workers in practice and in game video study ... was the opening day starting quarterback in 2010 but suffered several injuries throughout the year ... was one of the team's most improved players on offense in 2009, establishing himself as the top back-up to four-year starter Donovan Porterie ... did a great job of pushing Porterie during practice early in the year and earned valuable gameday experience in his debut season (5 games) ... tall, rangy signal caller with a strong arm and good release...redshirted the 2008 season.
2012 (SENIOR): Played in 10 games with nine starts, missing three games because of a separated shoulder he suffered against Fresno State on Oct. 27. ... also missed time against Texas (neck injury) and Air Force (concussion) but still threw for 647 yards with two touchdowns and one interception ... ran for a career-high 168 yards and one TD ... returned to the starting lineup in the season-finale at Colorado State after a three-week absence due to a separated shoulder and had a season-best performance with 205 passing yards on a 12-of-21 effort. ... also threw a picture-perfect 55-yard touchdown pass to Jhurell Pressley and had 13 rushing yards ... rushed for 29 yards and added 27 through the air against Fresno State on Oct. 27 ... had a long rush of 16 yards and a long pass of 20 before leaving the game against the Bulldogs with a separated shoulder ... threw for 29 yards and rushed for three at Air Force on Oct. 20 before leaving the game due to injury ... threw for 109 yards and rushed for his first touchdown of the season Oct. 13 at Hawaii ... his touchdown was a 5-yard run and came with 3:49 remaining in the fourth quarter to seal the Lobos' 35-23 victory over the Warriors ... completed a season-long 36-yard pass to SaQwan Edwards in the first quarter ... passed for 44 yards and rushed for 20 more as the Lobos nearly upset No. 24 Boise State on Sept. 29 ... threw for 92 yards in UNM's 27-14 win over New Mexico State on Sept. 22 ... also rushed for 34 yards against the Aggies ... sealed the win with a 16-yard run on fourth and 6 late in the fourth quarter ... had a career-long 29-yard rush at No. 17 Texas on Sept. 8 ... averaged 7.8 yards per rush on five carries vs. the Longhorns ... completed 6 of 8 passes for 57 yards and one TD in the season opener against Southern ... also rushed two times for four yards.
2011 (JUNIOR): Played in 11 games, starting the final eight...completed 141 of 236 passes for 1,490 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions...his 59.7 completion percentage was the fifth-highest single-season mark in school history.earned the starting job because of his performance off the bench in week four against Sam Houston State, in which he threw for 289 yards (on 19-of-30 passing) and two touchdowns and ran for 27 yards in 18 minutes of work plus overtime...threw for 274 yards and one TD during the 21-14 win over UNLV in week 10...had 265 passing yards with a TD and 37 passing yards in week five against New Mexico State...finished with a career-high 48 rushing yards against Wyoming in week 11.
2010 (SOPHOMORE): Battled injuries throughout the year, after winning the starting job coming out of fall camp...limited to seven games and he started four times (at Oregon, Texas Tech, San Diego State, at Colorado State)...was 63-of-119 passing for a team-high 619 yards...had two passing touchdowns (Texas Tech and San Diego State), both to TE Lucas Reed...had his best game against Texas Tech on Sept. 11, going 30-of-50 for 323 yards including a career-long pass of 57 yards to Ty Kirk.
2009 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Officially appeared in 5 games, seeing significant action 3 times against Tulsa, Air Force and Utah...was unavailable for 3 games after a bout of mononucleosis, but returned to practice during the Lobos' bye week...19-34 passing (55.9%) for 170 yards with a long of 29, 1 TD and 2 INTs (95.82 efficiency rating) in roughly 4 quarters of work on the year...long run of 9 yards...6-10 passing for 66 yards and a TD at Utah, plus 21 yards rushing on 5 carries while playing the final 7:33 of the 4th quarter...played the final 3 quarters in week 3 vs. Air Force (8-15, 73 yards, long of 29, 2 INTs).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Hart High School in Stevenson Ranch, Calif...All-C.I.F. quarterback who completed 165-of-280 passes (59%) for 2,656 yards, 25 TDs and only 6 interceptions as a senior for the Indians...also 739 yards rushing on 151 carries with 6 TDs...first team all-Foothill Conference pick, team offensive MVP and team captain...Hart finished 12-1-1 with the only loss coming against Ventura St. Bonaventure (42-28) in the Div. 1 Southern Section championship game...best performance was in a 49-13 victory over Golden Valley when he was 15-of-16, no interceptions, 325 yards and 4 TDs...played for head coach Mike Herrington...also a 4-year letterman in lacrosse, playing the attack position.
