Lobo Athletics Set To Invade Rio Rancho on June 22

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The New Mexico athletics department will invade Rio Rancho, N.M., on June 22 for a youth sports clinic and a Lobo coaches luncheon as part of the Lobo Country Tour sponsored by the New Mexico Sports Authority. Lobo supporters will be given an opportunity to have lunch with new Lobo football coach Mike Locksley and head basketball coach Steve Alford at Chamisa Hills Country Club. Registration is currently underway, so don't miss this exciting opportunity to spend a day with the Lobos.

Lunch with the Lobos will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude around 1 p.m. at the Chamisa Hills Country Club. Supporters have the options of purchasing tables or individual tickets to the event by calling (505) 925-5014. The featured speakers will be coach Locksley and coach Alford.

Following the luncheon, UNM will host the 2009 Lobo Youth Sports Clinic from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the gym at Rio Rancho High School. Children ranging in ages from 8-14 will be able to learn valuable skills and enjoy the sports clinic with Lobo coaches.

The Lobo Club also will be starting a Sandoval County Chapter during the event and encourages supporters to be part of the fun. The Lobo Club is "The Team Behind the Teams", the branch of the University of New Mexico Athletics Department responsible for raising funds for athletic scholarships. Lobo Club members, through their financial support, are investing in the futures of UNM student-athletes and the future of your New Mexico communities.
