Swim and Dive Heads to Postseason

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico’s swimming and diving season will continue for one more week with UNM’s first dual postseason appearance for swimming and for diving for the first time in seven years as two divers will head to Flagstaff for NCAA Zones and four swimmers will head to Ocala, Florida for the National Invitational Championships.

The Diving Zones at Northern Arizona start today with team diving, but the individual events run Monday through Wednesday.  The swimming events will take place Thursday through Saturday.

For UNM, Alice English qualified for the 1-meter dive, 3-meter dive and the platform dive and Kristen Hepfer will compete in the 1-meter and the platform.  The 1-meter will take place on Monday, the 3-meter on Tuesday and the platform on Wednesday, with the prelim rounds starting at 11:30 am Pacific, 12:30 pm Mountain.

The Lobos swim side will have Jordan Foster in three events, the 50 Free, the 100 Fly, and the 100 IM and Iryna Tsesiul in two, the 50 Back, and the 100 Back. Both Jordan and Iryna will be joined by Sophia Corder and Linda Franco for the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay.

Foster will swim in the 50 Free on Thursday, the 100 Fly on Friday and the 100 IM on Saturday, giving her one race each day.  Tsesiul will swim in the 50 Back on Thursday and the 50 Back on Friday.  The 400 Medley Relay will be on Thursday and the 200 Medley Relay will be on Friday.
