Prior to UNM: Graduated from Joensuun Yhteiskoulun Lukio (high school) in 2010...Competed in the Finnish Youth Championships during all four years of high school and her first year of college (attended Itä-Suomen yliopisto/University of Eastern Finland for one year) finishing in the top-10 eleven times.

Personal: Born in Rautjärvi, Finland...Daughter of Harri and Marja-Liisa Kirvesniemi...both of her parents were professional skiers, Marja-Lissa was an Olympic Champion in 1984 and Harri was a World Champion in 1989...has one sister, Elisa, who is 25 and a track and field athlete...hobbies include cooking, movies, friends, music, spectator sport and writing...favorite athletes are Emil Jönsson, Eldar Roenning, Carolina Kluft, Sanya Richards and Tanja Poutiainen...favorite food is homemade pizza...favorite movie is The Holiday.
