Nordic Team Concludes U.S. Nationals Competition
Rumford, Maine - The University of New Mexico mens and womens Nordic teams concluded competition in the U.S. National races with a second place finish by the womens squad in the 10K Freestyle race. Sophomore Martina Stursova finished eighth overall and second among collegiate skiers in the race.
The womens team had two other skiers finish in the top-10 among collegiate skiers. Junior Jenny Wissting place fourth while senior Kristina Strandberg finished in ninth place.
On the mens side, Johan Rydquist placed 12th overall and fifth among collegiate skiers. Both the Nordic team and the Alpine team travel to Vermont for the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association meet this weekend, hosted by the University of Alaska-Anchorage. The Nordic team will compete in Heber City, Utah while the Alpine team races in Park City. Q
