Tarvisio, Italy - Lobo Sophomore Helena Woodrow and freshman Gladys Weidt finshed their competition on the U.S. Women's Alpine team at the World Univeristy Games this weekend. The pair competed in the women's Slalom race on Saturday and attended the closing ceremonies Sunday. UNM's head ski coach George Brooks was also on hand, serving as the team manager.

Woodrow, who led the U.S. Women in the Downhill and the Super-G races, finished in 37th place overall in the Slalom race on Saturday. She was fourth among the U.S. skiers. Weidt earned some valuable international racing experience but did not finish her run in the Slalom race.

The trio returns to Albuquerque on Monday to prepare for the third Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate meet of the season in Boulder, Colo., hosted by the University of Colorado. The Lobos are currently in second place in the RMISA overall standings and look to overtake first place Utah this weekend.
