Boulder, Colo. - The University of New Mexico ski team finished the Colorado - Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association meet in third place today. The Lobos tallied 523 total points and was able able to gain ground on Utah (565) and Colorado (618). The third place finish drops the Lobos into third place overall with a total of 1,565 points on the season. Utah keeps its lead in the RMISA with 1,685.5 points, while Colorado moves into second place with 1,655 points.

After a tough day in the Giant Slalom, the womens Alpine team bounced back for a second place finish in the Slalom. However, their second place finish did break a three-meet winning streak for the Lobo women. Junior Caroline Schicht and freshman Kathrin Spendier tied for fourth place while junior Jennifer Delich placed eighth.

The mens Alpine team had its best finish in the Slalom by placing third overall. Freshman Christian Jensen led the way with a sixth place finish while sophomore Gottfried Schwarzmueller tied his career-high with a 10th place finish. Senior Lars Bjorge completed the Lobo scoring with a 23rd place finish.

The womens Nordic team earned 75 points with a second place finish in the 5K Classic race. Junior Jenny Wissting finished fourth to lead UNM, while senior Kristina Strandberg placed fifth. Sophomore Martina Stursova rounded out the Lobo scoring with a ninth place finish.

The mens Nordic team skied to a fourth place finish despite the fact that junior Johan Rydquist did not start for the Lobos. Freshman Lars Krogsveen led New Mexico with a fifth place finish while freshman Jimmy Vika placed seventh. Junior Jacob Zehnder had a career-high 19th place finish.
