NEW MEXICO:Defending MWC 1,500m champion and UNM indoor record holder in the mile who will be an All-America candidate in both events this year...NCAA Championships qualifier and all-Midwest Region honoree in the 1,500 last spring...clocked the 8th-fastest time in the country and 2nd-fastest all-time at UNM (3:40.77)...3-time all-MWC honoree (mile, DMR, 1,500) in 2008...also an elite 800 runner and a conference scoring threat in the 3K or 5K...coming off his best cross country season, earning all-region honors in his final meet...transferred to UNM in the fall of 2007 from Sheffield Hallam University in England...2008 (cross country) Turned in his best cross country season, scoring in all 6 meets and earning all-region honors at the NCAA Mountain Championships (17th, team No. 2)...22nd at the MWC Championships (team No. 5)...career-best 12th in the season-opening Lobo Invitational... 2007-08: (outdoor) Tremendous spring, leading the team in both the 1,500 and 800...recorded a career-best (8th nationally) time of 3:40.77 in the 1,500 against a world-class field at on April 12 at Arizona State...time was the fastest in the MWC before the month of June and ranked third on the all-time list....went on to finish 7th at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships to become the first Lobo since 1979 to qualify for the NCAA Championships and second to earn all-region honors in the 1,500...finished 16th in the semifinals with a time of 3:44.58 - just 0.67 seconds shy of a berth in the finals...snapped BYU's 5-year winning streak in the 1,500 and became the Lobos' first gold medalist in the event since 1986 with his win at the MWC Championships (3:47.62)...also recorded the fastest preliminary 800m time at the MWC Championships (1:51.19), but ran out of gas after his 1,500 win and finished 9th in the finals...career-best and NCAA regional qualifying 800m time of 1:50.16 (April 26 victory at Cal) was 4th in the MWC...9 races on the season, with 2 wins...MWC Athlete of the Week honoree following his performance at ASU...
