NEW MEXICO:Talented fourth-year sprinter who returns to the team after sitting our the 2005 season...two-time MWC finalist in the 400...coaches are hoping he can rediscover the form that made him one of the top young runners in the league as a freshman and sophomore...has two years of eligibility remaining...two-time Academic All-MWC honoree...2004: (outdoor) Led the team in the 400 with a season-best time of 48.53...placed 8th in the finals at the MWC Championships (48.97)...top 200 time of 22.03 was 5th on the team...7 top-8 finishes...also ran on both relay teams...Academic All-MWC honoree...(indoor) Owned the team's second-fastest 400m time, clocking in at 49.58 in the prelims of the MWC Championships...finished fourth at Northern Arizona...earned all-MWC honors as part of the UNM distance medley relay team and ran on the mile relay as well... 2003: (outdoor) Competed at six meets, notching his first career victory at NMSU...recorded the Lobos' top two times in the 400 at the MWC Championship meet in Albuquerque...was the final qualifier with a preliminary time of 48.55, then moved up to sixth in the finals with a time of 48.36...earned all-MWC honors with both UNM relay teams...moved into the 4x100 lineup in place of senior Nick Lott late in the year and helped the squad finish third at the conference meet with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 40.67, in his second 4x100 relay appearance...team went on to place ninth at the Midwest Regionals with a season-best time of 40.47...subbed for Ahmed Raji in the 4x400 relay at the MWC meet and helped the Lobos' finish second (3:12.94)...Academic All-MWC honoree...(indoor) Competed in one meet, running a 400-meter time of 51.26 at Air Force... HIGH SCHOOL:Four-year letterwinner in track at Hobbs (N.M.) High School under head coach Quintin Wilson...captured the state 5A 400-meter title as a junior...finished fourth as a senior...two-time Hobbs team MVP...also played wide receiver for the Eagles' football team...PERSONAL:Born on June 5, 1984 in Hobbs, N.M....age is 21...son of Donald and Lorna Jackson...has a sister, Teri (14)...favorite sports memory was giving away his first state medal to the injured senior he replaced on the relay team.
