UNM Track - January 2012

The Lobos start to 2012 year by travelling to the NAU Open and hosting the Cherry & Silver and the New Mexico Invite.

NEW MEXICO

2012 Indoor: Competed at five meets, including the conference championships...Opened with top-15 finishes in the 60-meter dash and 200 at the NAU Lumberjack Open, as she placed seventh in the 60 (7.92*) and 14th in the 200 (25.99*)...Clocked a career-best 7.88* in the 60 at the Cherry & Silver Invitational...Posted a seventh-place performance in the long jump (18-4 1/2) and eighth place in the triple jump (37-3 1/4) at the New Mexico Invitational...Placed 12th in the triple jump at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational with a 37-3 1/4 leap, while also tying for 20th in the long jump (16-10 3/4)...Placed eighth at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with a season-best 38-6 1/4 leap, while also tallying a tie for 18th in the long jump (17-3 1/4).

2012 Outdoor: Participated six times in four different events, but primarily in the jumps...Started the season with a 19th-place run in the 200 (25.73*) and an eighth-place leap in the long jump (17-9 1/4) at the UTEP Springtime Invitational...Clocked an 18th-place time of 12.30* in the 100 at the Don Kirby Tailwind Invite, while also placing sixth in the triple jump (38-6 3/4)...Finished ninth in the long jump at the Beach Invitational, with a mark of 18-8...Took runner-up honors in the long jump at the Brutus Hamilton Open, leaping 18-3 1/4...Posted solid marks at the MW Outdoor meet, claiming eighth in the long jump (18-1 1/2) and 13th in the triple jump (34-11 1/4).

HIGH SCHOOL

Lettered in track and field for coach Kyle Skartwed at Hope Christian in Albuquerque...Named Athlete of the Year in 2011 and Spinter Jumper Award in 2010 and 2011...Recognized as High Point Female Track Athlete...Registered the 3A record in the triple jump at the New Mexico State Track Meet...Ran a 12.31 100m and a 25.10 200m her senior year of high school...Also recorded a 17'8" long jump and a 39'7" triple jump her senior year...Lettered in basketball as well...Summa Cum Laude with a 4.2 cummulative GPA.
