Improving middle distance runner who will look to give the Lobos another conference scoring threat in the 800 and 1,500/mile in her debut track seasons...redshirted all of 2008-09 while training with the elite women's distance crew...coaches say she made great improvement toward the end of the `09 track season.

2010: (outdoor) Competed four times with a personal best and the second best time for New Mexico in the 800-meters with a time of 2:16.89 at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal Berkeley...ran a personal-best in the 1500-meters at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 4:45.91

2009: (cross country) Made four meet appearances for the nationally-ranked Lobos...scored as the team's No. 5 runner (8th overall) as UNM put up a score of 17 in the "Duel In The Desert" vs. New Mexico State.

2008-09: (cross country/indoor/outdoor) Redshirted all three seasons.

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2008 graduate of Westview High School in Beaverton, Ore. - a suburb of Portland...7th in the 800 at the 6A state track meet as a senior after capturing the Metro League title in the event...holds the school record in the event at 2:16.2...top times of 4:52 in the 1,500 and a 4x400 relay split of 60.2...2nd team all-state selection in cross country in '07...track and cross country team MVP for coach Andrew Begley as a senior.

Born in Portland, Ore...full name is Bianca Elena Martin...daughter of Oliver and Rebecca Martin...parents are both professional cyclists...dad participated in the 1964 and '68 Olympics, is a member of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame and coached the U.S. Olympic cycling team...mom is a two-time national champion...has an older brother, Nicholas...major is undecided.
