The Lobos played host to some of the premier institutions across the nation at the Don Kirby Invite, Feb. 10, 2012.

UNM Track - January 2012

The Lobos start to 2012 year by travelling to the NAU Open and hosting the Cherry & Silver and the New Mexico Invite.

NEW MEXICO:

2011 Indoor: Competed at six meets in the pole vault...Picked up a second-place finish in the pole vault at the Lobo Open with a result of 12'-1.5" (3.70m)...Nabbed 8th place at the Cherry and Silver Invitational with a mark of 12'-7.5" (3.85m)...Finished fifth at the New Mexico Invitational in the Pole Vault with a mark of 12'3.5" (3.75m)...Posted an eleventh-place finish at the New Mexico Classic and Multis, vaulting 11'9.75" (3.60m)...Fifth-place finish at the Don Kirby Invitational with a season-best (and then personal best) mark of 12'10" (3.91m).

2011 Outdoor: Runner up in the pole vault at both the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational (13'-0.75"/3.98m, also her career record) and the Arizona State Invitational (12'-9.5"/3.90m)...3rd-place finish at the UTEP Invitational (12'-11.75"/3.96m)...4th place at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational (12'8"/3.86m)...2nd place at the MWC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, tying her career mark of 13'-0.75" (3.98m).

2010 Indoor: Participated at six meets in the pole vault...Rattled off four straight meets with a mark of 11'-7.75" (3.55m) in the pole vault, picking up first (Lobo Open), seventh (Cherry & Silver Invitational), third (Lobo Challenge), and 15th (New Mexico Classic & Multis)...Nabbed a second-place finish at the Air Force Invitational, vaulting a then-record 11'-11.75" (3.65m) mark...Registered the same mark at the MWC Indoor Championships, picking up ninth place.

2010 Outdoor: Competed at six meets, all in the pole vault...Recorded a personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 12'-0.5" (3.67m) at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal Berkeley for 2nd place...Hit a mark of 11'-9.75" (3.60m) at the TCU Invitational.

2009 Indoor: Redshirt season...Participated unattached at the New Mexico Invitational (3rd place, 10'10"/3.30m) and New Mexico Classic (11th place, 10'-11.75"/3.35m).

2009 Outdoor: Competed in the seven meets, all in the pole vault...Opened her first season with the UNM Track and Field team at the UTEP Springtime, posting a 10'2" (3.10m) vault on route to a sixth-place finish...Recorded a season-high 11'-1.75" (3.40m) mark at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, good for fourth place...Placed fifth at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational, reaching10'-11.75" (3.35m).

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2008 graduate of Albuquerque's Cibola High School...four-year letterwinner for coach Scott Carleton...school record holder in the triple jump....helped the Cougars capture three-straight district titles and finish 2nd at the 2008 class 5A state meet...6th in the state triple jump (34-06.00) and long jump (17-01.75) as a senior...17th in the heptathlon at the Great Southwest meet...also lettered with the Cougar cheer squad.

Born in Albuquerque, N.M....full name is Amber Susan Menke...daughter of Paul and Susan Menke...has an older brother, Patrick...was an accomplished gymnast (level 10)...plans to go into athletic training and eventually become an orthopedic surgeon.
