2012 Indoor: Competed at six meets, placing in the top-two all but once...Opened with two ties for first place, clearing 16-11 1/2 at the NAU Lumberjack Open and 16-7 1/2 at the Cherry & Silver Invitational...Placed second at back-to-back meets, the New Mexico Invitational (17-1 1/2) and the New Mexico Classic (17-2 1/4), including a outright finish at the Invite and a personal best at the Classic...Took runner-up honors at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with a 17-1 mark.
2012 Outdoor: Vaulted at three meets, including the first round of the national championships...Claimed two consecutive second-place finishes, including a season-best 16-10 3/4 clearance at the Front Range Classic and a 16-8 3/4 mark at the MW Championships...At the First Round of the NCAA Championships, vaulted 16-8 3/4 again to place 35th.
2011 Indoor: Participated in seven competitions, all in pole vault...Opened the season at the Lobo Open, notching a second-place finish with a mark of 16'-0.75" (4.90m)...Posted a tenth-place finish at the Cherry & Silver Invitational, reaching 15'7" (4.75m)...Finished third at the New Mexico Invitational, vaulting 16'-1.75" (4.92m)...Reached 16'-7.25" (5.06m) at the New Mexico Classic & Multis, good for sixth...Runner up at the Don Kirby Invitational, posting a season-best 17'-1.5" (5.22m) mark...Finished fifth at the MWC Indoor Championships, reaching 16'-6.75" (5.05m)...Registered his second best mark at the UW Last Chance Qualifier, reaching 16'8" (5.08m).
2011 Outdoor: Vaulted in seven competitions...Started the outdoor season at the ASU Invitational with a 16'-2.75" (4.95m) time, earning sixth...Won the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational with the same mark as in the ASU Invite (4.95m)...Placed third at the UTEP Invitational with a mark of 16'3.25" (4.96m)...Finished fifth at the Steve Scott Invitational, reaching in 16'-7.5" (5.07m)...Won his second competition of the year at the Arkansas Twilight, vaulting 17'1" (5.21m)...Placed fourth at the MWC Outdoor Championships, matching his personal best of 17'-1.5" (5.22m).
Lettered in track and field for coach Ken Carlson...Two-time state champion...Won the pole vault at the 2010 IHSA Boys State Championships with a 17-1 mark, over 2 1/2 feet better than the runner up...Also claimed the state title at the 2009 IHSA meet with a 15-9 mark...Also lettered in soccer.
