LSU's Deonna Lawrence capured the 400 with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 53.83.

Xavier Carter lived up to his No. 1 ranking in the 200, winning the event with an automatic qualifying time of 20.74. UTEP's Daniel Ward (right) finished second in 21.01.

UNM recognized many of its legendary track athletes from the 1960s, including Cal assistant Tony Sandoval. Sandoval competed at New Mexico then helped build the UNM women's track program, coaching Susan Maceachen (right), formerly Susan Vigil, to a 1979 AIAW 800 title.

Two-time All-American Rene Matison is now heading up the Lobo Track & Field Alumni organization.

Legendary UNM coach Hugh Hackett with 1969 triple jump champion Art Baxter.

Perhaps the greatest runner in New Mexico history, Adolph Plummer won the 1961 NCAA 400 title and clocked a then world record time of 44.9 in the 440-yard dash in 1963.
