NEW MEXICO:Veteran runner who coches expect to be one of the men's team leaders this fall...spent much of his career as a middle distance specialist, but turned in his best cross country season in 2004 and emerged as a strong long distance runner during his final track season...coaches have called him the backbone of the team and praised his offseason workout regiment...2004-05: (outdoor) Appeared in six meets, competing at each distance between 1,500 and 5,000 meters...clocked a PR of 3:53.36 in the 1,500 before running the first two 3,000m steeplechase races of his career...scored for the first time at the conference meet and closed his track career by placing 8th (9:53.80) in the event at the MWC Championships...(indoor) Raced five times, notching top-5 finishes in the mile and 800m at Texas Tech...top 800 time of 1:55.87 was fifth on the team...(cross country) Proved to be a consistent, dependable force during the fall, finishing among the team's top-7 in all six meet appearances...scored at the Great American XC Festival and MWC Championships, finishing third and fourth on the team, respectively...notched top-15 finishes in the first two meets of the year and recorded a top 8K time of 25:45.7 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet... 2003-04: (outdoor) Ranked third on the team in the 800 with a top time of 1:53.91 at the Mesa Classic...ran six races during the spring...(indoor) Four races during the winter, including a top finish of fourth in the 800 at NAU, clocking a career-best time of 1:56.19...(cross country) Enjoyed his best cross country campaign, scoring in each of his five meets...notched a career-best fifth place finish at the pre-conference meet...clocked top 8K time of 25:51 in the Lobos' victory at the Canyon West Classic... 2002-03: (outdoor) Owned UNM's top two 800m times, including a personal best time of 1:53.29 in the prelims at the MWC Championship meet...missed qualifying for the finals by 1.29 seconds, placing ninth in the prelims at the MWC meet...runner-up in the 800 in UTEP dual meet...clocked a season-best 1,500 time of 4:01.40 at LSU...(indoor) Competed in three middle distance races...(cross country) Appeared in four meets...placed 14th at UTEP and was the team's third runner at Oklahoma State... 2001-02: (outdoor) Competed in a pair of meets during the outdoor season...(indoor) Notched a pair of top-five finishes, competing mostly in the 800...top 800 time of 1:56.60 was fourth on the team, 13th in the MWC...was also a member of UNM's top indoor 4x400m relay team...(cross country) Redshirt season...
