NEW MEXICO:Second-year standout and a 2008 cross country team captain who was the Lobos' No. 1 cross country runner and a first team all-Mountain West Conference honoree last fall...went on to set the indoor school record in the 5,000 before an illness ended her track season...enters the season in great shape and ready to challenge for the MWC cross country title...redshirted the 2008 outdoor season...has redshirt seasons available in cross country and indoor track...transferred from Mississippi State in the summer of `08.2007-08: (outdoor) Redshirt season...(indoor) Raced just twice before an illness ended her first track season, but led the team in the 5,000 and 3,000...broke a 15-year-old school record in the 5,000 with a time of 17:05.19 (3rd MWC) at Washington...clocked a time of 9:45.26 (6th MWC) in the 3K at Notre Dame...Academic All-MWC honoree and MWC Scholar-Athlete Award winner...(cross country) First team all-MWC honoree who led the team in all 5 races in her debut season at UNM...4 top-30 finishes, including a pair of top-5 efforts...fifth (21:35) at the MWC Championships - just 15 seconds behind the winner...27th (21:48) at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships...clocked a season-best 6K time of 21:05 in a 26th place finish at Oregon...was the top collegian (2nd overall) in her Lobo debut and first race at altitude, leading UNM to its first Lobo Invitational title...Academic All-MWC. MISSISSIPPI STATE:Competed in track and cross country at Mississippi State from 2005-07.2006-07:(outoor/indoor) SEC finalist in the 10,000 meters, finishing 6th...set the school record in the 10K at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 35:30.43...also owned the Bulldogs' top 5,000 (17:18.85) time of the year, which she recorded in a third place finish at the Texas Relays...won the 10K at the Alabama Relays...competed in the 3,000 and 5,000 indoors...(cross country) Scored in all 6 meets and earned her first collegiate victory in the season-opener (Sewanee Invite)...8th at Alabama. 2005-06: (outdoor) Competed at the SEC Championships in the 1500- and 5000-meter runs...season-best of 17:53.18 in the 5,000, finishing third at the LSU Tiger Relays...(indoor) Finished second in the 3000-meter run at the Clemson Invitational (10:09.07)...(cross country) Finished 26th at the SEC Championships... 2nd at the MSU Short Course...posted sixth place finishes at the Belmont Opener and Crimson Classic. HIGH SCHOOL:A 2005 graduate of Pulaski (Wisc.) High School outside of Green Bay...lettered in track and cross country four years...two-time state champion in the 3200-meter run (2004 & 2005)...finished 3rd in the 1,600 as a junior and 2nd as a senior...2004 WCCCA Female Runner of the Year... won the state cross country title to lead the team to a runner-up finish in 2004...4th individually in 2003...member of the Leo Club and National Honor Society.PERSONAL:Born in Green Bay, Wisc...full name is Michelle Lynn Corrigan...daughter of Elizabeth Corrigan...has three brothers (Sean, Tim, Brian) and a sister, Lisa...major is University Studies and plans to go to pharmacy school.
