Second-year runner who is projected to redshirt this fall...limited action on the track last year after a solid start to her Lobo career as one of the nationally ranked team's starting seven runners...transferred from Boston University and enrolled at UNM in the fall of 2008...strong middle distance specialist on the track. 2008-09: (outdoor) Appeared in two early season meets, running a 5,000 (17:46.05) at Stanford on March 27 and an 800 (2:15.95 - Lobos' No. 3) at home on April 11...MWC Scholar Athlete award winner.

(Outdoor,2011) had a great year whilst trying out a brand new event, 3k Steeplechase...Nearly missed out on making it to Regionals, but placed 7th at MW championships in a very competitive field...looking to do great things in 2011-2012 season...also a 4 time Dean's list recipient...

BOSTON:

Attended the Boston University during the 2007-08 season...scored in all 5 meets for BU during the cross country season...18th at the America East Conference Cross Country Championships to help BU finish second as a team...69th at the NCAA East Regional Championships for the 9th place Terriers...3rd in the first 2 meets of the fall...placed 5th in the 1,500 at the America East Outdoor Track Championships and also 5th in the mile at the AEC Indoor Championships...helped the Terriers' 4x800-meter relay team sweep indoor and outdoor AEC titles.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

Attended Clevedon (England) Community School...personal bests of 2:12.24 in the 800, 4:29.26 in the 1,500 and 9:51.17 in the 3,000 - all recorded in 2007...12th at the English Schools Cross Country Championship her senior year...won the Junior English National Cross Country Championship...runner-up at the Under-20 1,500m at the Great Britain National Indoor Championships...7th in the senior girls 1,500 at the English School Track & Field Championships.

Born in Bristol, England...full name is Emma Frances Reed...daughter of Stephen and Wendy Reed...has an older sister Kate who ran for Great Britain in the 10,000 at the 2008 Beijing Olympics...majoring in Geography.
