Lobo Cross Country Holding Team Tryouts Aug. 15

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico cross country team will be holding team tryouts on Wednesday, August 15 at 9 a.m. at the University of New Mexico’s Outdoor Track Complex. In order to try out for the nationally-ranked and defending three-time Mountain West champion men’s and women’s teams, students will need to fulfill a list of requirements before trying out. To be eligible, prospective student-athletes must be enrolled as full-time students (12 credit hours) at UNM for the Fall 2012 semester. Students will also need to bring a signed paper from physician proving they have undergone a physical within the last calendar year, performed anytime from August 15, 2011 through August 15, 2012. For those who have not had a physical within the year, they must have one performed before arriving at the UNM track for tryouts. Proof of health insurance is also required. Students need to bring a health insurance card or papers from their health insurer, or if they do not have health insurance, students must have a policy before arriving at the UNM track complex. Students should arrive promptly at 9 a.m. on Aug. 15 wearing appropriate running attire. Those who make the roster will be asked to stay for a team meeting.
