2004 (Junior) - Gaarder posted a 3-3 record in 53.1 innings of action...made four starts and 19 appearances...struck out 45 batters...first UNM start was at Texas A&M (2/29)...also started at TCU (3/14)...struck out three in 2.1 innings of work vs. Utah (3/20)...fanned four in 2.2 innings at New Mexico State (3/24)...struck out three in 2.0 innings at Air Force (4/18)...retired his first 10 batters and pitched 5.1 innings of scoreless relief at UNLV (4/24) to earn first victory at UNM...pitched six innings of solid relief to win his second game of the season at San Diego State (5/2)...earned third victory after pitching five innings and striking out five against Air Force (5/15)...Academic All-Mountain West honoree.
