Senior ('08):Earned Mountain West Conference second team honors...named a MWC Scholar Athlete and honored as a MWC All-Academic honoree...collected the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award for sportsmanship and leadership...played in 56 games, starting 45...batted .271 with three home runs and 22 RBI...stroked 13 doubles...notched 13 games with multiple hits, including collecting four knocks on April 12, 2008...pieced together a 10-game hitting streak from April 23-May 11...did not see full-time playing action until March 5 due to a pre-season wrist injury...drove in a season-high three runs on March 29 vs. Vermont...hit first and only home run of the season on May 9 against UNLV...reached base five times on May 9 vs. UNLV with four walks and a hit, scoring two runs...collected two hits in each game in the Utah series (April 18-20). Sophomore ('06): Named to the all-MWC first team as a third baseman ... honored on the ESPN the Magazine District VI Academic first team ... played and started in 56 of UNM's 59 games ... hit a team-high .376 (83-for-221... compiled a 14-game hit streak during the season and ended with a nine-game hit streak in tact ... recorded 25 multiple-hit games and 14 multiple-RBI games, leading the team in two-hit (19) and three-RBI (7) contests ... had two five-hit games... ranked 49th in the nation in RBI per game (1.16) and 94th in batting average (.376) ... in the MWC, placed third in batting average (.376), fourth in on-base percentage (.457), sixth in RBI (65), seventh in slugging percentage (.624) and home runs (11)... hit a grand slam in the first inning at NMSU... hit .429 (3-for-7) vs. 12th-ranked Oregon State with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI... doubled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth vs. Dallas Baptist (3/24)... led the team in hitting at the MWC Preseason Tournament, hitting .385 (5-for-14)... hit a team-high .769 (10-for-13) with two home runs and 12 RBI in the series with Air Force (4/13-14)... became the eighth Lobo in program history to hit for the cycle, going 4-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored in game two vs. AFA (4/13)... hit .462 (6-for-13) in the TCU series (5/18-20) ... ended the season with a nine-game hit streak in tact, hitting .300 at the MWC Tournament (5/23-25). Freshman ('05): Emerged as the starting third baseman, beginning 47 games at the hot corner ... went 2-for-4 with two RBI in first career start at Arizona (2/6)... batted .600 (9-for-15) with three doubles and six runs in the Savannah State series, going 5-for-6 with four runs scored in game one and 3-for-5 with two runs in the third game (3/13)... pinch-hit three-run homer in first game of a doubleheader vs. AFA. High School: Four-year starter under coach Ty Detrinidad at Santiago High School ... a three-time first-team All-Mountain View League selection ... earned All-Riverside County honorable mention in 2003 ... set the career hits mark for the Sharks ... other school records include most innings played and most games played...helped lead his team to the Mountain View League title and to the CIF quarterfinals in 2003 with a 22-7 record ... played in the Sunbelt Series in Oklahoma ... played scout ball for the Kansas City Royals in 2002 and for the Seattle Mariners in 2003 ... played travel ball for the Colton Nighthawks ... 4.4 GPA and 1,290 score on the SAT ... three-time scholar-athlete honoree ... named Valedictorian.
