2003 (Arizona State) - Appeared in 16 games for ASU, going 1-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 19.2 innings of work...earned first save with three innings of shutout relief against Central Connecticut State in the Tempe Regional...also contributed 1.1 shutout innings against Cal State Fullerton in the Super Regionals...picked up first Division I win against Notre Dame.

2001-02 (El Paso CC) - Played two seasons at El Paso Community College under current Lobo assistant coach Ken Jacome...collected a 10-9 record with a 3.13 ERA and two saves in his two seasons for the Tejanos...as a freshman he was 7-5 with one save and a 3.38 ERA with 85.1 innings pitched...in his final six starts he was 5-0 with a 1.84 ERA, including four complete games and three shutouts...as a sophomore he was 3-4 with one save and a 2.72 ERA in 49.2 innings pitched...named to the Texas/New Mexico JC All-Star Team...chosen for the NJCAA USA Team...set the EPCC career record for lowest ERA.

High School - Earned three varsity letters in baseball and one in swimming at Socorro High School in El Paso...played with the Phoenix Firebirds in 2001 and Albuquerque Cubs in 2000...was a World Series pickup for the Firebirds...was a combined 21-1 in his high school career on the mound...named all-state pitcher and all-city second baseman...co-league MVP as a senior...El Paso Times All-City first-team pitcher and outfielder.
