2004 (Junior) - Smith saw action in 14 games...pitched 16.1 innings...struck out 13 batters...first UNM start came at Texas A&M (2/28)...threw five innings, allowing four runs on four hits...struck out a season-high nine batters in four innings of work against Air Force (5/27), earning the save.

El Paso CC (2002-03) - Named first-team All-WJCAC Conference as a pitcher in 2003...one of two pitchers at El Paso Community College to have gone undefeated in 2002 (4-0)...over the summer of 2002, Smith played in the collegiate summer league for the Madison Mallards, and in 10 games was 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA... at the 2001 Connie Mack World Series, Smith played for the Farmington Senators.

High School - Attended El Paso Coronado High School...honorable mention all-district his senior year...two-year letterwinner.
