ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico baseball team will conclude its fall practice this week with its annual Cherry-Silver World Series at the newly-renovated Lobo Field. The five-game set will take place each afternoon at 2 from Tuesday through Sunday, with Saturday being the only day off.

The Lobos are coming off back-to-back-to-back NCAA regionals appearances and will be competing for a fourth straight trip this spring. The World Series will be key for head coach Ray Birmingham and his assistants, Ken Jacome, Dan Spencer, and Matt Hibbits, as they make observations in order to form the 2013 squad. Several alumni are expected to attend the event as the Lobos continue to work their way towards a trip to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., and a national championship.
