GENERAL INFORMATION/CAREER
Strong, athletic, leave-it-on-the-court point guard expected to be a real leader for the Lobos in 2009-10 • First name is pronounced da-REESE • First player to sign with Lobo head coach Steve Alford in the spring of 2007 • Has started 62 consecutive games • After two seasons, his 4-year numbers project to more than 1,000 points and close to 500 assists, barriers reached by only two Lobos: Phil Smith (1981-84) and Kelvin Scarborough (1984-87).
SOPHOMORE SEASON
Only Lobo to start every game • Averaged 8.1 points and a team-high 4.1 assists (140 total), good for 2nd in the MWC...also 5th in the league in assist/TO ratio (1.82) and 9th in steals (39, 1.15 pg) • Lobos were 12-1 when he had 5 or more assists in a games • Tied a career-high with 20 points against Wyoming in the MWC Tournament • Last 9 games: 11.1 ppg on 24-53 FGs, 7-13 from 3-point and 45-62 FTs, 36 assists and 12 steals • 50 assists and just 18 turnovers in the last 12 games • Had a 3-game stretch from Feb. 3-11 with 14 assists and 0 turnovers in 66 minutes • A real warrior at Colorado State, scoring all 18 of his points in the second half/overtime before fouling out with 9 seconds left in the 2nd OT...added 8 assists in a career-high 39 minutes despite playing with a sore back • 15 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in NIT game at Notre Dame, which is 30 minutes from his hometown • Career-high 20 points on 4-7 FGs, 2-4 from 3-pt. and 10-13 FT's vs. Central Florida...also had 7 assists • Career-high 11 assists vs. Ole Miss • Career-high 5 steals vs. Oral Roberts, notching his final pick on the last play of the game to preserve the Lobo victory...added 9 assists • 15 points at BYU, 3-3 from 3-point • 8 points and a game-high 7 assists at Air Force.

Two-time first team all-area selection from Concord High School in Elkhart, Ind. • A three-star recruit rated the No. 28 point guard in the nation according to Scout.com • Led Concord to a 13-7 record as a senior, scoring 21.8 ppg • Also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game • Shot 56.3% from the floor, 34.7% from 3-pt. range and 69.0% from the foul line • Led the Northern Lakes Conference in scoring, posting 19.6 points per game in league action • Scored 1,330 points in his high school career, ranking ninth all-time at Concord, the same high school that produced Shawn Kemp • Led Concord to the sectional title as a junior with a 22-2 record, averaging 22.3 ppg, four rebounds and two assists • Played running back and safety on the football team.
