Three-time All-MWC guard • Changed his number from 0 to 5 after his sophomore season • A redshirt in 2001-02 • Team captain for the 2005-06 season along with David Chiotti and Tony Danridge • Played in 116 career games with 94 starts • Had back surgery on March 28, 2005 to repair a bulging disc that had plagued him for two seasons • 15-15 from the FT line in postseason play for his career • 1,200 career points, became the 24th Lobo to crack the 1,000-point barrier, scoring a career-high 26 points at Wyoming on 1-14-06...the same game teammate and roommate David Chiotti scored his 1,000 career point...17th in career scoring at UNM, 55 points ahead of teammate David Chiotti • 153 career steals is eighth all-time at UNM...Second all-time in the MWC rankings • One of only four Lobos all-time to collect 1,200 points, 450 rebounds, 220 steals and 130 assists. 1st Team All-MWC • 2nd Team All-District 13 by the NABC • MVP of the Jim Thorpe Classic • Led the team in scoring averaging 15.5 ppg • Second on the team with 4.5 rpg • Also led the team with 3.1 apg and 2.1 spg...second in steals and fifth in scoring in the MWC • Shot 43.6% from the field and 37.7% from 3-pt. range • Fouled out of seven games this season, five times in conference play • In Conference Play averaged 16.1 ppg...fourth in the MWC...Shot 46.9% from the field and 41.1% from 3-pt. range...2.1 spg was second in the MWC

2004-05 • Junior Season
Honorable mention All-MWC • Started all 33 games at either the point or shooting guard position • Averaged 10.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.8 apg and 1.3 spg • Primary ball-handler after Kris Collins was lost for the season to a foot injury on Jan. 26, 2005 • Shot 47.8% from the field and 37.2% from 3-pt. range • Scored in double figures 16 times including six of last eight games • Made his last 16 FT attempts...last miss was at UNLV on Feb. 28 • Given the Leadership Award at the 2005 men's basketball banquet

2003-04 • Sophomore Season
Played in 25 games, starting 11 • Averaged 4.9 ppg and 2.9 rpg • Tied for the team lead with 10 charges drawn • Fouled out of three conference games.

2002-03 • Freshman Season
Honorable mention All-MWC • Played in every game, starting 20, including 10 of the last 11 • Averaged 9.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.8 apg and 28.1 mpg • Led all MWC freshmen in scoring and rebounding in all games • Second on the team in rebounding (5.6 rpg) • Led the team in rebounding eight times; among UNM freshmen, only current Sacramento King Kenny Thomas had more rebounds (256) than Walters (157) • Scored in double figures nine times • 265 points is the ninth-best total by a Lobo freshman • 52 points the last three games (17.3 ppg) on 20-38 FGs, 4-11 on 3s, 8-9 FTs, plus 23 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals.

A 2001 graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque • High school coaches were Raphael Martinez and Bill Harvey • All-state, all-district and all-city selection as a senior • One of 10 local players nominated to the McDonald's All-America game • Career-high 39 points against Rio Grande • Named all-district and all-city as a sophomore and a junior • Also played wide receiver for the Hornets' football team • Named all-district, all-city and all-state as a senior on the gridiron • Recruited to play football by UNM as well.
