STEVENS: UNM Seeks Artifacts From The Legendary Pit for DocumentaryIn making a documentary of The Pit, probably the best place to start is with the 13 million-plus fans (OK, some of you came many, many times), who have strolled down into New Mexico's sunken treasure to watch their men and women Lobos play ball. So, that's what we're doing here over at the UNM Athletic Department. We are calling out to Lobo fans to bring in any and all types of memorabilia, mementos, photos, old tickets -- whatever you got that shows a piece of the 42-year-old history of University Arena.6/1/2009
STEVENS: Steve Alford's Basketball Camp is Full of Laughter and FundamentalsThe background noise of men and machines moving material and dirt in the $60 million renovation of The Pit couldn't drown out the sound of kids' laughter in the first of the Steve Alford/Lobo Basketball Camps. One camper, Michael Statzula, had a good reason to be a Lobo basketball fan. "Because I live in New Mexico," said Statzula. Said Alford: "It's a fun thing for us coaches to come out here and hang out with a bunch of neat kids all day." |
