The Alford Blog
October 21, 2008 I have heard from a lot of people about how excited they were at last week's Lobo Howl. As you could see, we have a lot of talent on this year's team. Videos of the dunk contest are popping up all over the web. You can click here - or here - to see a couple of great videos of the dunk contest. We will be speaking a the Comcast Coaches Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Marriott Pyramid North on 5151 San Francisco Blvd. NE. I will be there along with head women's basketball coach Don Flanagan and Vice-President for Athletics, Paul Krebs. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tables of 10 are available for $150 and individual tickets are available for $15. You don't have to be a Lobo Club Member to attend, but we hope you are one by the time you leave. For more information or to reserve your seats call 925-5014 or click here by Wednesday, October 22nd. =========================================================
October 17, 2008 Tonight's the night. We are just a few hours away from the Lobo Howl and we are getting excited. I hope to see everyone at The Pit and in your Lobo Red. If you can't make it, 770 KKOB is set to broadcast live from courtside. You can follow all of the action on the radio or online at www.770kkob.com. The Mtn. has posted all of the videos from Tuesday's Media Day in Las Vegas, Nev. It is an interesting watch so click here to check it out. =========================================================
October 10, 2008 We have officially started the countdown to the first practice and we are one week away from the Lobo Howl. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. (M.D.T.) next Friday, Oct. 17 at The Pit. The women will hit the floor at 7:00 p.m. and we will come down the ramp at 8:00 p.m. We want to pack The Pit for every event this year and that includes the Howl, so make plans to be there. Season tickets are on sale now and hopefully you have already purchased yours. If not, click here for all the ticket information you need. We shot our season ticket commercial yesterday and the guys had a lot of fun. You can click here for a photo gallery of the shoot. I think you will be pleased with the final product. Roman and Daniel were out in the community this week. They went to Monte Vista Elementary School on Monday to sign some autographs and visit with the students. They were a part of a big groups of Lobos that went to Monte Vista. A picture from the event is below.

We had a great time at Four Hills Country Club on Monday for our Lobo Basketball Golf Tournament. There was a big turnout in both our morning and afternoon groups and the dinner and reception that followed was a huge success. We are still trying to grow the 6th Man Club and if you are interested in joining, call the basketball office at (505) 925-5750 for more information. Above is a short photo gallery with pictures from the event. =========================================================
