2006 (SOPHOMORE): 2005 (TRUE FRESHMAN): HIGH SCHOOL:A 2005 graduate of Albuquerque La Cueva HS where he starred in both football and baseball...2-time first team class 5A all-state selection at linebacker...had 66 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 blocked punts and an interception as a senior...named Albuquerque Public Schools Male Athlete of the Year of the 2004-05 school year...2-time prep All-American and a 3-time first team all-state honoree at catcher...helped lead the football team to a 13-0 record en route to its second straight state title in `04...the Bears also won the `03 championship with a perfect 13-0 mark...helped La Cueva win 3 consecutive state baseball championships...team compiled an 85-1 record during that span, including a national prep record 70-straight wins before losing to rival Rio Grande HS on April 4, 2005....hit .493 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI as a senior.PERSONAL:Born on Sept. 10, 1986, in Albuquerque...age is 21...son of Rob and Lucy...has two siblings, Rob and Leigh...brother, Rob played baseball for Air Force...grandfather, Bob, played football for UNM, leading the Lobos' in rushing in 1952...uncle, Curt Arnett, played in the minor leagues. |
