NEW MEXICO:
Versatile veteran who moved over to the offensive line after two years on the other side of the trenches...redshirted in 2005 after transferring to UNM from Shasta College in Redding, Calif. the previous spring...has yet to appear in a game for the Lobos, but got good practice experience playing both guard and center this past spring...also made steady progress in the weight room...put up 308 in the power clean and 475 in the squat.
SHASTA COLLEGE:
All-conference defensive lineman in 2004 with 11 tackles for loss and 5 sacks...played for head coach Craig Thompson.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2003 graduate of Del Campo HS in Sacramento...13 sacks as a senior to earn all-conference honors for head coach Steve Kenyon...also lettered in wrestling.

Born Nov. 25, 1984, in Sacramento...age is 22...full name is Ryan Joseph Boyd...son of Greg Boyd and Holly Philpott...has four brothers and a sister...major is University Studies.
