New Mexico hosted Colorado State in the season opener, won by the Rams 14-10.

NEW MEXICO: A former walk-on who earned a scholarship because of his versatility on the scout team in 2011 -- he has the ability to play quarterback, running back, wide receiver and defensive back...will benefit from an offseason in the strength and conditioning program and has a chance to contribute in 2012.
