NEW MEXICO:
Returning letterman at wide receiver who will enter preseason camp as one of the starters when UNM goes to its three WR package...brings outstanding size to the position and has shown flashes of being a consistent target in the passing game...excellent blocker on the perimeter and downfield who should only get better with his improvement in the weight room...upped his max in all 4 core lifts during the offseason...increased by 55 pounds in the squat (425), 37 in the power clean (301), 30 in the bench (345), and 10 in the incline (245)...was Hank Baskett's understudy last season after transferring from Northeast Mississippi Community College in January of 2004...an academic qualifier out of high school, Brawley attended Southeast Missouri State in 2001...played in 4 games, catching 5 passes for 24 yards...hometown is pronounced LEE-ton.
2004 (JUNIOR):
Appeared in all 12 games, starting the regular season finale vs. Wyoming...just 3 catches for 25 yards on the year, but two receptions went for first downs on 3rd-and-long plays...was a tremendous downfield blocker, leading all WRs with 18 knockdowns, including a career-high 5 in 35 snaps vs. Wyoming...made two of the biggest blocks of the year for the Lobos, springing Hank Baskett's 69-yard catch-and-run TD at Colorado State and Kole McKamey's 80-yard option keeper TD vs. Wyoming...both plays broke open tight games in the second half.
NE MISSISSIPPI CC:
42 catches for 839 yards and 4 TDs last fall for head coach Bobby Hall...was at NEMCC in 2002-03, but did not play football...NE Mississippi is in Booneville, Miss.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2001 graduate of Leighton (Ala.) Colbert HS...played for head coach Jimmy Moore...a three-year starter at safety and a two-year starter at receiver...29 catches for 587 yards and 10 TDs as a senior...first team all-state, leading the Indians to a 13-2 record and the state title game...averaged 16 points a game for the basketball team and he won the state 200 and 400 meters his senior year..also found time to earn all-district honors in baseball
