NEW MEXICO: Fast, shifty running back and kick returner who showed incredible promise after making his collegiate debut in in the Lobos' seventh game in 2009 as a true freshman...not very big, but runs extremely hard, is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, and a perfect fit for the team's spread offense...a dangerous kick returner as well who is a threat anytime he touches the ball...showed great potential in his first full season in 2010...enters his junior year as one of the primary backs for the Lobos...unofficially clocked at 4.5 in the 40 during high school when he was one of the most dominant RBs in the state of Texas...did a fine job in the classroom, earning Academic All-MWC honors in his first semester at UNM...very involved off the field while in high school as a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as a volunteer coach for the Pearland Hurricanes youth football team...after Hurricane Ike hit the area, he removed heavy debris and destroyed furniture from the homes of the elderly and less fortunate living in his neighborhood.

2011 (REDSHIRT): Hurt his ankle during fall camp and, after missing the first few games, was placed on his redshirt season.

2010 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 11 games with 5 starts and continued to improve throughout the season...led UNM in rushing with 373 yards in his first full season...had two touchdowns including his first career TD at New Mexico State on Oct. 9...averaged 33.9 yards per game, including a long run of 38 yards at Air Force...finished the year with 21 catches for 121 yards...emerged as the primary running back late in the year...had a career-high 97 yards against Wyoming on Nov. 6...also a 23.6-yard average on eight kickoff returns.

2009 (TRUE FRESHMAN): Added a tremendous spark to the offense in his first 6 collegiate games (1 start) as a 19-year-old rookie...led the team in rushing in 4 of his 6 appearances...averaged a team-best 44.8 rushing yards/game (269 total on 61 carries - 4.4 avg.) with a long of 22...21 catches (92 yards, long of 13, 4.4 avg.) were 2nd among Lobo RBs...led the team with averages of 60.2 yards from scrimmage (361 total) and 99.0 all-purpose yards (594 total) per game...team-best 23.3-yard average on his 10 kickoff returns with a long of 49...29 yards on 6 carries in his week 7 debut vs. UNLV...Academic All-MWC honoree.

`09 HIGHLIGHTS: vs. Colorado State...Huge performance to help lead the Lobos to their first victory...season-highs with 15 carries for 87 yards...had 50 yards on 6 rushes in the 4th quarter, including a 22-yard burst with one minute remaining to set up the Lobos' game-winning field goal...also had a 3-yard run on 4th-and-1 to set-up the Lobos' 2nd TD of the night...racked up a season-high 183 all-purpose yards, including a 49-yard kickoff return - the team's longest of the year - to set up a pivotal TD run by fellow true freshman RB Demond Dennis...vs. No 22 BYU...Team-high 140 all-purpose yards on 21 touches...caught 8 passes out of the backfield for 47 yards, including a long of 13, and had 25 yards rushing on 10 carries with a long of 9...also averaged 22.7 yards on his 3 kickoff returns with a long of 34...at No. 14 Utah...Led the team once again with 54 yards on 11 carries against one of the MWC's toughest defenses...did an excellent job of spinning and bouncing off would-be tacklers and slashing through narrow creases for additional yardage...long of 16...also added a 28-yard kickoff return...at San Diego State...Team-high 63 yards on 13 carries (4.8 avg.) with a long gain of 14...4 carries for 26 yards in the 1st quarter and had 7 carries for 31 yards in the 3rd quarter...also had 3 catches for 15 yards (long of 12) and did a fine job of pass protection against a blitz-heavy defense.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Pearland (Texas) HS, which is a Houston suburb...hometown is pronounced PARE-land...ran for 4,415 yards and 61 TDs in a brilliant prep career...all-state by the Texas Sportswriters Association in 2008 when he finished third in Class 5A rushing with 2,117 yards...also tied for the state scoring crown with a school-record 35 TDs...averaged 7.8 yards per carry...four-year varsity letterwinner for head coach Tony Heath...helped the Oilers to the 2008 District 22-5A title...all-county and district 24-5A offensive player of the year as a junior...also ran the 100 meters for the track team.
