NEW MEXICO:

Three-year letterwinner who has steadily improved each year in the program and should be a regular in the linebacker rotation once again this fall...will open preseason practice as junior Cody Kase's back-up on the left side...not very tall, but powerfully built and plays with an extremely high motor...always around the ball during his limited playing time and simply finds ways to make plays...began his career at safety before moving to linebacker, a position he played early in his high school career...a redshirt in 2002, worked his way into a special teams role in '03, was a valuable scout team player in '04 and joined the regular LB rotation last year...earned his degree in Criminology in May and is taking graduate courses this fall.

2005 (JUNIOR): Played in seven games on special teams and coming off the bench at linebacker...career-high 11 tackles, 0.5 for loss and a QB hurry...3 tackles each in back-to-back games against Missouri and New Mexico State early in the season...career-high 22 snaps against the Tigers

2004 (SOPHOMORE): Made one appearance at linebacker late in the game at New Mexico State

2002 graduate of Los Angeles area Venice HS...two-time first team all-conference defensive back who led the Gondoleers in tackles in 2000 and 2001...a second team all-city selection his senior season when he had more than 100 tackles and an interception...played outside linebacker as a sophomore before moving to strong safety his final two seasons...picked off 5 passes his junior year...played for coach Angelo Gasca (goss-ka)...a 3.2 cumulative GPA.
