NEW MEXICO: Walk-on linebacker who joined the team in the fall of 2007...has steadily improved each year in the program and coaches say they want him to take on a significant special teams role this fall...played in 2 games in 2009 on special teams...has the potential to be a factor in the defensive rotation in the future...a little undersized, but has shown good athletic ability and great effort on the practice field...played both LB and S while redshirting in `07 and was a scout team LB in 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Houston North Shore High School...all-state and all-district linebacker for the class 5A power Mustangs...played for head coach David Raymond....also an all-state academic honoree...lettered in track as well.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 18, 1988, in Houston...full name is Julion Christopher Conley...son of Clint and Myra...dad played cornerback at Sam Houston State...has an older sister, Angela...major is University Studies.
