The Lobo Football team hosted a Fan Photo Day on August 20, 2011 in University Stadium.
NEW MEXICO:Versatile offensive lineman who resumed his career at center after spending 2011 at right tackle ... will bring a veteran leadership and work ethic to the line in 2013 ... poised to have a great senior year ... named a captain for the 2013 season at the end of spring practice ... showed his toughness along with LaMar Bratton as the two offensive linemen to take every snap in 2012 spring practice team drills ... voted team co-Offensive Line MVP with Bratton in 2011 ... has a good knowledge on the innerworkings of all five line spots...trained behind first team all-Mountain West center Erik Cook during his redshirt season in 2009...Cook is now with the Washington Redskins ... teammates voted Farrell the Lobos' Most Valuable Offensive Scout in 2009 ... a late bloomer who, amazingly, was 5-8 and 160 pounds as a ninth grader.
2012 (JUNIOR): Started all 13 games at center ... earned All-Mountain West honorable mention honors ... was part of a unit that helped the offense rank fifth in the nation in rushing yards per game with an average of 301.3 ... led the team with an overall grade of 90 percent against Nevada on Nov. 17 ... was perfect on assignments in 54 snaps against the Wolf Pack and tied for second on the team with eight knockdown blocks ... had one of his best games of the season against UNLV on Nov. 3 as he led the team with seven knockdown blocks ... finished with an assignment grade of 100 percent on 74 snaps and an overall grade of 77 percent ... was second on the team with an overall grade of 81 percent against Air Force on Oct. 20 ... graded out at 100 percent on assignments against the Falcons, one of two Lobos to do so ... also recorded eight knockdown blocks versus Air Force as UNM rushed for a season-high 409 yards ... tied for the team lead with a grade of 99 percent assignment on 76 plays against Hawaii on Oct. 13 ... finished with an overall grade of 79 percent against the Warriors and was credited with seven knockdown blocks as the Lobos ran for over 300 yards for the fourth straight week ... graded out at 100 percent assignment for the second straight game as the Lobos rushed for 361 yards against Texas State on Oct. 6 ... graded out at 97 percent on assignment and 80 percent overall as the Lobos rushed for 304 yards against New Mexico State on Sept. 22 ... recorded 11 knockdown blocks against the Aggies ... graded out at 98 percent assignment on 65 plays at No. 17 Texas ... led the team with an 82 percent overall grade and eight knockdown blocks vs.. the Longhorns as he turned in the line's best performance ... started at center against Southern on Sept. 1 and had a 79 percent overall grade, including 100 percent on assignments in 39 snaps.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in all 12 games, with six starts at right tackle. two starts at left tackle and one start at center...shared the team Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award with center LaMar Bratton...helped the offense generate 415 yards of offense in the 21-14 win over UNLV.
2010 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN):Started all 12 games at center for the Lobos ... the first UNM freshman to start at center since Ryan Cook in 2002 ... Cook became a four-year starter, was first team all-MWC his final three seasons and was a 2nd-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2006 ... Farrell logged 694 plays during his first full season ... steadily improved throughout the year and gained experience that will benefit him as his career progresses.
2009:Redshirted. Named the Lobos Most Valuable Offensive Scout.
HIGH SCHOOL:First-team all-state offensive lineman as chosen by the coaches and the media following his senior year of 2008 ... Christian Life was 12-2 in 2008, finishing second in class 1A, which is the smallest classification in the state ... one of 70 students in his graduating class...participated in the U.S. Army Redstick Bowl, a postseason all-star game in Baton Rouge ... a four-year starter who was all-district as a junior ... also played on the defensive line for head coach Warren Capone ... Senior Class President.
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 7, 1990 ... full name is Dillon Shane Farrell ... son of Bill and Rene ... father played outside linebacker at LSU from 1977-79 ... graduated in May of 2013 with a degree in University Studies.
